Tamegroute Pottery

Tamegroute pottery is one of the oldest in the kingdom of Morocco. Here, pottery is an inheritance handed down from father to son, and it’s a source of life for the population. Tamegroute pottery is a typical rural pottery made in an arid and desert environment, the Draa Valley: it’s from the surrounding areas around the village that the artisans source the clay to be mixed with water. Famous for its traditional green forest glaze, the pottery is also available in different shades of warm brown: in both cases, each piece is unique with its own marks and textures which are created during the firing process.

This product is handmade and therefore can have imperfections. As any object made by hand, it’s a gesture of love and helps us feel closer to our roots. By purchasing this bowl you’re supporting the work of artisans and their local business.
