Big plus here for the pink stem, that makes them even more delicious.
Founded in Arques, northern France, in 1948, Luminarc is the first brand of the Arc group, designed to offer tableware and glassware in clear or decorated glass for everyday use. Today, Luminarc is one of the world’s leading tableware brands and spreads its French style across borders in nearly 160 countries.
A bit of story: The village of Arques, in the north of France, began its association with glassmaking in the early 19th century, with the rise of demand for a new type of bottle, the “dames jeannes”, featuring large bodies with narrow necks and used for storing cognac, wine and other liquids. The company, founded in the 1980s and renamed in 1892 as Verrerie Cristallerie d’Arques, was run by a very enterprising manager, Mr Durand. After visiting glassmaking sites in the US, he brought to France new generation glass-blowing machines and mechanical techniques, allowing the company to quickly become the most modern glass production site in Europe and to launch large-scale production. In 1948, the company launched its first consumer-oriented brand name, Luminarc, which quickly became its flagship mid-priced brand.
